Eligibility Requirements
- The applicant must have a master's degree in International Development, Development Studies, Project/Programme Management, Climate Change, Environmental Management, Public Policy, Social Sciences, M&E, Organizational Development, Youth Development, or a related field
- A bachelor's degree with substantial, progressively responsible experience may be considered instead of a master's
- 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible experience in program management, grantee support, organizational development, capacity strengthening, MEL/KM, or community-based development, within development, philanthropy, humanitarian, climate, youth development, or non-profit sectors
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-country or multi-partner program portfolios
- Proven experience supporting civil society organizations, youth-led organizations, grassroots movements, or community-based organizations
- Experience integrating safeguarding, inclusion, gender equality, and youth participation into program work
- Professional certification in project management, M&E, organizational development, or safeguarding is an added advantage, not required
What the Role Covers
This position spans six interconnected areas, weighted by how much time they take up:
- Program Portfolio Management and Delivery (30%): This includes overseeing AYCF's full program portfolio, coordinating grantee onboarding, monitoring implementation against work plans and results frameworks, and leading portfolio review meetings
- Grantee Support, Capacity Strengthening, and Organizational Development (20%): Designing tailored institutional support for youth-led organizations, conducting capacity assessments, coordinating peer learning and mentoring
- Program Quality Assurance and Adaptive Management (20%): Setting program quality standards, integrating safeguarding and do-no-harm principles, documenting program innovations
- Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and Knowledge Management (10%): Leading MEL/KM systems, preparing program reports for donors and management, capturing lessons learned
- Technical Partnerships, Community Engagement, and Ecosystem Building (10%): Building relationships with technical partners and youth networks, representing AYCF at events
- Leadership, Team Coordination, and Continuous Improvement (10%): Supervising program staff and consultants, contributing to organizational planning and budgeting
