EducAid Sierra Leone is looking for a District of Excellence Coach to work closely with the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education's team in Falaba district. They will be part of the team every day, helping to make a difference in education.
EducAid is a charity from the UK and a non-governmental organization in Sierra Leone, and they have been working to improve education in the country for over 30 years. Right now, they are working with more than 300 schools and also running five of their own schools that serve as models for others.
This role is really important to our mission. It makes sure our district team has what they need to do a great job. This includes helping schools have excellent staff and student attendance, keeping everyone safe, and making sure teaching and learning are top-notch in every school. The person in this role will work with a group of schools, called a cluster, to make sure all of these things happen. They will support the district team so they can help schools succeed.

What the Role Involves
On a daily basis, the Coach works closely with their assigned Senior Quality Assurance Officer or other MBSSE officers, visiting schools and observing classes to provide hands-on training and coaching to school leaders, teachers, and other stakeholders. The goal is to ensure every child is in school, safe, and learning. This involves training on digital tools and regular meetings with the Programme Coordinator for Education and the District of Excellence Coordinator. Accurate data collection is also a key part of the role, as it helps identify what additional support each school needs. By working together, the Coach and other stakeholders can make a real difference in the lives of students. The Coach's work is focused on providing support and guidance to help schools improve, and their efforts are crucial to achieving the goal of every child receiving a quality education.
Protecting children is a big part of the Coach's job, it's not just something they do sometimes. They have to think about keeping kids safe all the time, and make sure everything they do helps with that. The Coach needs to share what they learn with other people who work with MBSSE, like the officers and staff in the same area, so everyone is on the same page. This way, they can all work together to make sure kids are safe and get a good education. The Coach has to be careful and make good decisions, always thinking about what's best for the children. They have to make sure everyone is working together and sharing information, so they can all do their jobs better and keep kids safe.

Reporting Structure
The District of Excellence Coach is answerable to the District of Excellence Coordinator, who also holds the position of MBSSE Deputy Director. This coach works in close collaboration with several key individuals, including EducAid's Country Director, the Programme Coordinator for Education, the Data Team, and the UK team. When issues arise, the District Coordinator is the primary person to reach out to for guidance and support. They serve as the main point of contact, ensuring that the coach has the necessary resources and information to excel in their role.
