Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a women-led and women's rights organization
- Women must make up at least 70% of the management team

- Organization must not have been convicted of fraud or any criminal activity
- Must have demonstrable capacity to effectively deliver on projects
- Must be based in Sierra Leone or Nigeria
What It Covers
Grants of up to 5,000 EUR are available to design and implement initiatives contributing to WomenPower2030's goals. Funded initiatives must touch on one or more of the following areas:
- Policy monitoring and dialogue with policymakers
- Educational and awareness-raising activities on gender and/or sustainable development
- Movement building
- Demonstrating equitable and sustainable solutions and services
- Gender-specific trainings, monitoring, or women's leadership trainings
- Tracking SDG/climate policies and budgets
- Social media and mainstream media campaigns
Important: initiatives whose primary focus is only awareness-raising and workshops will not be accepted. Priority goes to initiatives that aim to influence policy, demonstrate sustainable solutions, or ensure gender-responsive budgets.
Required Documents
All applications must be submitted in Word (.doc/.docx) format, along with:
- Detailed budget (Excel sheet)
- Certificate of registration
- Letter of reference
- Track record of activities (reports, media links, or testimonials from previous projects), compiled into a single document
- Application itself should not exceed 10 pages, excluding attachments.

- Complete the application, addressing one or more of the specified focus areas directly
- Compile all required attachments (budget, registration certificate, reference letter, track record)
- Email the completed application to grants@wepnigeria.net

Major Considerations
This grant is strictly for organizations, not individuals, and specifically for organizations that are majority women-led (70%+ women in management). A strong personal initiative or informal group without registration and a track record won't qualify here.
The focus area requirement is worth reading carefully: WEP explicitly states that applications centered only on awareness-raising and workshops will be rejected. Applicants need to show real intent to influence policy, build movements, or deliver sustainable solutions, not just run sensitization sessions. Applications that don't clearly address the specified focus areas won't be considered at all, regardless of the quality of the organization otherwise.
Given the required attachments (registration certificate, reference letter, compiled track record, detailed Excel budget), this isn't a same-day application. Organizations should start assembling documents well before the deadline. WEP also notes that due to high application volume expected, only successful applicants will be contacted.
Final Verdict: Should You Apply?
This is strong fit for registered women-led organizations in Nigeria or Sierra Leone with an existing track record and a clear policy-oriented or solution-driven initiative in mind. Not suitable for individuals, informal/unregistered groups, or organizations planning workshop-only interventions.
